2025/26 School Calendar Approved
Posted onThe Rocky View Schools (RVS) Board of Trustees has set the school calendar for 2025/26, which is now available on the RVS website.
“This school calendar responds to what we heard from our families, students and staff. It strikes a balance between what is best for students, what is desired by families and staff and what is required by the Province,” said Board Chair, Fiona Gilbert “Feedback from our community is an important part of the process to plan the school year in the best interests of student learning. Thank you to every person that provided thoughtful and detailed feedback on the school calendars.”
Highlights of the 2025/26 school calendar include:
- First day of classes for students: Sept. 2, 2025 (after Labour Day)
- Spring break: April 3 – 13, 2026
- Last day of classes for students: June 26, 2026
- 182 instructional days
The calendar also provides RVS teachers and other school staff with opportunities for professional learning days to enhance instructional practice and improve student learning outcomes.
The calendar was designed following an engagement process that saw approximately 2,900 parents/guardians, students and staff provide more than 2,100 pages of responses to an online survey on RVSEngage.com. Based on this feedback, the chosen calendar reflects a traditional approach that recognizes families prioritized enjoying summer months together before students head back to school in September.
Based on the feedback collected during the survey, a revised draft 2026/27 school calendar will be brought to the Board for consideration at a future date.
