Rocky View Schools (RVS) will open a new Grade 9 to 12 school this coming fall in Langdon (starting with Grades 9 to 11 in its first year). Horseshoe Crossing High School will open with room to welcome students living outside of its attendance boundary. To provide an option for Chestermere families who would like their children to attend Horseshoe Crossing High School in Langdon, RVS will offer bus transportation if there are at least 10 students who register for this bus.

Bus Transportation from Chestermere to Langdon’s Horseshoe Crossing High School

  • The route would have two central pick-up/drop-off locations in Chestermere that students would need to get to themselves (RVS transportation would not be provided to get students from their home to these two central stops). Please see map for likely pickup/drop-off locations.
  • The ride could take up to 75 minutes from Chestermere as it picks up other students in the rural area along the route.
  • Bus fees are the same for all RVS students ($325 for the year. Register early to receive an early registration discount of $40 for the first two children and $20 for each additional child in the family).
  • If community interest is not high enough the following year (2025/26) the route will be cancelled before the start of that school year.

Apply to Horseshoe Crossing and Register for Bus Transportation by June 21

  • Please complete the Out-of-Attendance Area form and submit it by June 21 for consideration.
  • Please register for RVS bus transportation and select Horseshoe Crossing High School as your destination school by June 21. If you have already registered, you can go back into your registration and change schools. If you have any questions or need help registering, please contact RVS Transportation.
  • You may still apply for Out-of-Attendance Area to attend Horseshoe Crossing even if you do not require RVS bus transportation.

All families who register for bus transportation from Chestermere to Horseshoe Crossing High School will be notified on June 28 if the bus route will proceed or not.
